Preus was Interpreter in Residence at the Smart Museum from 2018-2020. Working with high school students the residency produced a collection of objects and processes with the remains of furntiure collected from closed Chicago public schools. Students had an opportunity to deconstruct pieces of furniture which were then reconfigured into the installation pictured above at the University of Chicago Harris School for Social Policy.
